This is a photo taken by a client. It is the night sky from Floreana Island, part of the Galapogos Islands. Pictures like this remind me of moments that are both spectacular and silent at the same time. These moments stick with us and become part of who we are. On the tough days, our memories can take us back to these places. Pictures rarely do justice to Mother Nature's miracles, can you imagine the real thing?

What? Christmas? Spring just arrived, its not the right time to talk about Christmas!

Except it is. European Christmas Market River Cruises sell out, every single year.

If this is in your future, there may be a very, very small number of options available for 2026. If you can hang on until 2027, we should be looking at itineraries and cabin space now. A deposit will reserve exactly what you want, and early booking means better pricing.

It may seem wrong to think about Chistmas now, but with high demand and finite inventory, a small investment of energy now, will ensure this dream comes true!

Today is the final day of the 2026 Verve Travel group trip to Colombia and Peru.

This trip combined bucket list destinations, (Machu Picchu!!!), with emerging tourism regions such as Medallin Columbia - and so many places in between.

We have covered a lot of ground and have experienced so many things. Our group bonded so well, forever friends were made and reinforced.

Are you interested in international travel? I have been to 53 countries, and the odds are decent that I will be familiar with your desired destination.

I am writing this from a hotel in Bogota, Colombia. Colombia was at one point a very dangerous and violent country. Tourists did not come here, and there was no tourism industry.

It is a safe country now, and it is such a pleasure to be here.

Many of us have been to countries with a mature tourism industry. We enjoy these popular destinations immensely, but we have to deal with crowds, exhausted local employees and that feeling of being processed rather than hosted.

When you arrive to a country that is in the early part of their tourism cycle, its amazing. Crowds are low. Service is fantastic and there is a genuine feeling of welcome. We have been thanked many times for choosing Colombia and the gratitude is sincere.

This morning at breakfast I watched two employees working on the fruit display in the breakfast room. Such perfectionists! Placing each apple just so, standing back and then making adjustments.

This is a pretty swanky hotel, but I didn't get the feeling that they were doing this for the boss. I believe they were doing this for us. To make the fruit display nice for us. So we would feel welcome.

Travellers out there - consider going to an emerging destination. You won't regret it.

Verve Travel is in the Sacred Valley, Peru. The first living thing that I saw this morning were 3 baby alpaca! They are SO cute!

Travel is imperfect. We've had a few hiccups in the first 48 hours because miscommunication happens sometimes between the various parties that host locally. This fantastic group of adventurers is not letting these things get them down, we are rolling with it and open to happy surprises.

Greetings to all!

Each year, Verve Travel does a group destination and for 2026, it is Peru and Columbia!

We have all arrived in this beautiful city and are ready to embark on our adventures tomorrow.

Some of us had free time prior to the official start of the tour and we have scattered to enjoy them.

I chose a food tour, and it was wonderful! Great food and the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

For anyone needing me, I am back in town on the 16th, and happy to assist then if your request can wait!

Right time, right place! We happened to be visiting the Royal gardens and grounds in Tokyo yesterday morning, and noticed the presence of security personnel, checking their watches and looking anxious. I wandered over to an area that was roped off and stood there, not knowing what was going on. A Japanese local woman used Google translate and told me that the Emperor was going to be coming by in 3 minutes. She had a big camera and I assume she had been tipped off by someone as this outing was not scheduled or made public. Sure enough, 3 minutes later.....Pur guide, who has been taking tourists to this spot 100s of times had never experienced this before.
