Guardian Memorial River Lighting Project is a tribute to police officers and first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This installation will illuminate the third pier on the North side of the old Carleton Street Bridge with blue light at night, serving as a public memorial and art installation.

Memorial & Public Art Installation:

Blue lighting will illuminate the stonework of the third pier, creating a visible and lasting tribute to fallen officers.
Electrical cables will be directionally drilled under the river to power the installation.
A weathering steel mounting structure will be installed on top of the pier for lighting equipment.

The Benefits:

This permanent lighting installation will offer a dedicated space for community reflection, in recognition of those who have made a sacrifice.
The blue lighting will add a beautiful and meaningful element to the river at night.

Le projet d’éclairage du mémorial du Gardien sur le fleuve vise à rendre hommage aux membres de la Force policière de Fredericton qui ont perdu la vie dans l’exercice de leurs fonctions. Cet éclairage artistique nocturne illuminera en bleu la troisième pile du côté nord de l’ancien pont de la rue Carleton.

Mémorial et œuvre d’art civique :

Un éclairage bleu illuminera la pierre de taille de la troisième pile, en hommage visible et durable aux policiers morts en service.
Des câbles électriques seront installés par forage dirigé dans le lit du fleuve afin d’alimenter l’installation.
Une structure de montage en acier résistant aux intempéries sera installée au sommet de la pile pour accueillir l’équipement d’éclairage.

Bénéfices :

Cette installation lumineuse permanente constituera un espace de réflexion pour la population et rendra hommage aux personnes ayant fait le sacrifice ultime.
L’éclairage bleu ajoutera un sens nouveau et de la majesté au fleuve la nuit.
