Some places are just built for romance, and the 1000 Islands is one of them. From historic castles to starlit stages, this curated summer itinerary balances adventure with quiet, romantic moments designed for the ultimate couples' escape.

Morning: Start your morning on the water, soaking in the quiet breeze as you cruise to the legendary Boldt Castle. Stepping onto Heart Island feels like being transported to a European estate. Spend your morning wandering through sunlit pathways and finding secluded spots to just sit and enjoy each other's company. (Be sure to have your passport or NEXUS card ready for customs!)

Afternoon: Leave the map behind and cruise down the Parkway to Hill Island. Stand side-by-side at the top of the 1000 Islands Tower, looking down at the intricate tapestry of the river 400 feet below. It’s a vast, breathtaking perspective that makes the rest of the world feel miles away.

High-performance boats, waterfront crowds, and summer energy return to the St. Lawrence on June 20!

The Top Gun Charity Run returns to the 1000 Islands with dockside excitement, marina views, live music, and one of the biggest summer spectacles of the season, all in support of CHEO and SickKids.

Watch the boats depart from Gananoque Municipal Marina before making their way to Brockville and back as boaters, sponsors, and spectators come together to support children and families through this incredible fundraising event.

Expect beer gardens, waterfront patios, and riverfront energy throughout the day as the shoreline comes alive for one of the region’s signature summer events.

We've put together a family-friendly itinerary that takes you from the Gananoque waterfront into the treetops of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere, with hands-on experiences, scenic drives, and plenty of time exploring together along the way.

Morning: Start the day at the 1000 Islands Boat Museum, where historic boats, floating exhibits, and interactive activities bring river history to life for all ages. On Saturday, June 13 from 9 AM to 3 PM, the Gananoque Lions Club Cruise-In Car Show returns to the Lou Jefferies Community Centre with classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, BBQ favourites, live music, vendors, prizes, and community energy all day long.

With free spectator admission, it’s the perfect excuse for a summer afternoon in the 1000 Islands. Wander the rows of vintage rides, stroll the waterfront, and soak in the small-town atmosphere that makes summer here unforgettable.

A summer evening at Canada’s Dockside Theatre is one of the most unique experiences in the Thousand Islands.

This June, the Thousand Islands Playhouse brings two unforgettable productions to the Gananoque waterfront as part of its 2026 season lineup.

Catch Sugar Road at the Springer Theatre through June 14, a heartfelt story filled with music, nostalgia, and small-town summer charm. Then, beginning June 30, Grease takes the stage with its iconic soundtrack, hot rod energy, and summer romance under the lights of Canada’s Dockside Theatre.
