Jamaica’s tourism industry is receiving a timely lift as RIU Jamaica announces that all seven of its properties will fully reopen just before the start of the winter tourist season. The decision comes as the sector works to stabilize operations and restore confidence following the disruptions caused by Hurricane Melissa.

The reopening marks an important milestone for the country’s recovery efforts, significantly strengthening room capacity at a crucial period for international travel. With winter traditionally bringing the highest influx of visitors, the return of RIU’s full inventory positions Jamaica to meet rising demand and maintain its competitive edge.

Tourism officials note that the move sends a strong signal to global markets that Jamaica remains open, prepared and resilient. The full restoration of RIU’s operations supports job recovery, boosts economic activity and reinforces the island’s commitment to welcoming travellers despite recent challenges.
