Looking for a Sunshine Coast summer camps for young kids aged 4 - 7? Fireside Adventures offers nature-based day camps in Roberts Creek, Porpoise Bay (Sechelt), and Gibsons designed especially for ages 4–7. Our small-group outdoor camps help children build confidence, friendships, and independence through beach exploration, forest play, fort-building, paddleboarding, outdoor cooking, and creative adventures.

This evening I am in London, England reunited with my second cousin (my mom’s cousin) Trudy who I haven’t in over 45 years. We spent the day connecting, sharing stories and learning much about each other’s lives. It’s been wonderful. It feels like “A Wrinkle in Time”. What’s interesting is I was hoping to finally read the book as I prepare for this summer endless Fireside adventures and stories. Check out the what is written on the first page. Conformity knows no time or place; it is the struggle all of us face, to be ourselves despite the overwhelming pressure to be like everyone else. Perhaps one of the most compelling and moving descriptions of that internal battle comes near the end of the book, when Mrs Whatsit tells the children that life, with its rules, its obligations, and its freedoms, is like a sonnet: “You’re given the form, but you have to
write.the sonnet vourself. What you say is completely up to you” I am really excited to get back to my roots and teach young people and connect with what matters. Spending time with others and breaking conformity is really important.
