Why Bother with Clean, Drain, Dry?

Invasive species are exactly that, invasive. Clean, Drain, Dry is the responsible way to avoid invasive species after recreating in water.

Clean: Remove all plants, mud, sand, and animals from all water gear.

Drain: All water from your boat, motor, live wells, bilges, and gear before leaving the waterbody.

Dry: Let your gear and watercraft dry completely before launching into a new body of water.

Keep our waters clean 😊

Bugaboo Provincial Park – Partial Park Closure 🚨

Recent flooding has damaged the Kain Hut Trail and made the Kain Gut, Bolder Camp, and Applebee Dome Camp inaccessible to visitors.

Until flooding subsides and Parks staff are able to assess residual hazards and the extent of damage to facilities, the entire Core Area of Bugaboo Provincial Park, including the Kain Hut Trail, is closed until further notice.

Parks BC has issued a closure map outlining the affected area:

It's Why Bother Wednesday!

Today we're discussing: Why Bother Respecting your Rec Site?

Shared spaces mean shared responsibility. Respecting your recreation site isn’t just good manners, it’s how we keep Golden’s great outdoors welcoming and ready for a next adventure. Pack out all garbage, keep fires in designated pits (a watch what you burn), and leave natural spaces exactly as you found them. Whether you’re camping, hiking, or spending a day at the lake, responsible travel ensures recreation sites stay clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone!
