Today we celebrate one of the most iconic seabirds of the North Atlantic — the **puffin**. With their bright beaks, waddling charm, and incredible diving skills, puffins are a true symbol of our coastal waters here in Atlantic Canada. 🧡

🌊 Did you know?
• Puffins can dive up to 60 metres deep to catch fish
• They can carry multiple fish in their beaks at once
• They spend most of their lives at sea, only coming to land to breed

📍 Right here on Grand Manan, we’re lucky to be able to access Machias Seal Island to witness these incredible birds up close during the season!

🎟️ Whether you join us ashore on Machias Seal Island or head out on a skiff tour, there’s nothing quite like seeing puffins in their natural habitat.

Sea Watch Tours 2026 bookings are officially open—and dates will go FAST!

• Ashore – Step onto Machias Seal Island + access to the viewing blinds

• Skiff Tour – Small-group boat tour around the island with incredible ocean views

👉 Both are truly unforgettable, bucket-list experiences!

⚠️ Important: We are strictly limited to 15 passengers per day on MSI—no exceptions. As much as we would love to accommodate additional requests, we are unable to exceed this limit.

2026 Puffin Tour Tickets will go live on the website for booking tomorrow March 18, 2026 1000 AST. Bookings are done online from our website at www.seawatchtours.ca

Important Reminders:

1. ASHORE tickets get you on the island and into the blinds to view the puffins.

SKIFF tickets get you a tour in a small skiff around the island, you view the birds from the water. (No land access)

2. Tomorrow the calendar will open for June 22- August 7 for puffin tours.

3. As cancellations occur tickets become live again. If you miss tickets tomorrow watch the website in the coming months as tickets do open up!

4. You are charged a non refundable fee at the time of booking. 20$ per ticket to a credit card. The remainder of your tour is paid on the vessel. Reminder: there is a 14 day in advance cancellation policy. If you no show or cancel within this window you will be charged full ticket price.

Our rules are imperative due to the very limited amount of patrons that we are able to take ashore.

Happy 2026! We can’t wait to welcome you to the island and aboard our vessel.

Reminder: YOU MUST book a stay on Grand Manan island due to the departure times of the tour. This changes based on your tours departure time. Early morning departures : you must stay the night prior. Afternoon departures: you must stay the night after your tour.

The Days Catch is all ready for another season of lobster fishing! 🦞

Fun fact: For those of you who didnt know, our vessel is primarily designed for commercial lobster fisheries, it has some unique safety features for summer tours to be able to safely take all of you to see the puffins and whales.

We wish our captain & crew a safe and prosperous lobster season and may be the odds be ever in your favour.

Important: we will be going to see the puffins starting this Monday!

The time will differ. Please be at the Seal Cove Wharf slip at 1245 instead of 7am!

We will be using a different vessel while the Days Catch continues to undergo repairs.

Emails have also been sent out!

If you are going on a puffin tour this week please keep an eye for change of time.
