Alana started as a travel consultant, worked her way up to team leader, and eventually set out on her own to build Your Vacation Guru. Along the way, she earned her diploma in Travel & Tourism from Sheridan College, became a registered advisor with TICO, and was certified as a Disney specialist.

But none of that is really the point. The point is that travel is one of life's most enriching gifts, an invitation to step beyond the familiar. Our job is to make sure that invitation gets planned properly: with creativity, care, and genuine curiosity about what you actually want out of the trip.

🇵🇹 Just Back from the Algarve, Portugal and Wow! 🇵🇹

We have officially fallen in love with Portugal! ❤️

Our stay at the Grand Muthu Oura View Beach Club was the perfect fit for our family. The spacious accommodations, beautiful pool area, direct beach access, and the ability to dine around at several sister properties made it an incredible value.

One of the things we loved most about Albufeira was its versatility. We could easily walk to the lively New Town Strip, but found ourselves gravitating back to the charm and character of Old Town, which was just a quick and inexpensive Uber ride away. The cobblestone streets, restaurants, ocean views, and atmosphere were absolutely fantastic.

The weather was perfect, the food was incredible, and we packed in some amazing experiences. Highlights included:

☀️ A day trip to Lagos and Cape St. Vincent — often referred to as the “End of the World.” The scenery was breathtaking, and our guide was outstanding. This is definitely an excursion I’ll be recommending to future clients.

⛵ A spectacular catamaran cruise along the Algarve coastline, complete with lunch and drinks, where we visited the famous Benagil Cave. Seeing these iconic caves from the water was an unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of our trip.

Portugal truly exceeded every expectation we had. Between the stunning coastline, friendly people, delicious food, rich history, and excellent value, it’s easy to see why so many travelers return again and again.

Needless to say, we’re already talking about when we can go back! 🇵🇹✨
