A couple of years ago I took a day off work to organize my house and got energized to sell reading this book. (audiobook)
Ryan talks about being a failed sales person with no money in the bank, relatable and proceeds to share his methods that led him to find the success that he has.
My Key takeaways 1. have so many balls (prospects) in the air that it doesn't matter if one drops. Relatable - I remember in my early days focusing so much on one client, whether they landed or not, I still had nothing on the go afterwards. 2. Client Care. Client Care. Client Care. I've said it a million times, and I will say it again, people will always remember how you made them feel. We've talked customer service around the PC a lot, and rarely does someone have a story where they received exception customer service. 3. Build Your Brand and that Energy is Contagious (The Energy Bus is a good read for this too!)

Lori earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) from Sheridan College in 2011. After graduating, she joined the Guelph Storm Hockey Club as their Athletic Therapist, where she spent three years, culminating in a memorable final season that took the team to the Memorial Cup Finals. Following her time with the Storm, Lori pursued further education in Massage Therapy, graduating in 2015, and has been successfully running her own business since then. In 2020, she partnered with Kristina Milligan to launch Synergy Sport Therapy.

Lori's commitment to continuous learning has led her to obtain certifications in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage, Cupping, and she is soon to be certified in Myofunctional Therapy.

Synergy Sport Therapy is an Athletic and Massage Therapy clinic located in the northeast end of Guelph. The clinic prides itself on a multidisciplinary, active approach to rehabilitation and injury prevention. Each appointment offers one hour of personalized therapy that includes manual therapy, modalities, education, and exercise prescription. The ideal client is anyone eager to take an active role in improving their overall function and well-being.

Originally from a small town outside of Barrie, Lori was a competitive figure skater until she switched to hockey at age 17. She has always led an active lifestyle, enjoying skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and traveling. In 2013, she backpacked through Europe, and in 2018, she took a dream trip to the Galapagos Islands and Peru. Lori currently resides in Guelph with her husband, two young sons, and two husky mix pups.

One of the top books I mention to business owners hands down is the E-myth
​The information that really stuck with me the first time I read it was that
​every business owner has three personas that must be balanced:
The Technician: Focused on doing the work (e.g., making products, providing services).
The Manager: Focused on planning, organization, and processes.
The Entrepreneur: Focused on vision, innovation, and growth.
Most people start businesses as Technicians but fail because they neglect the Manager and Entrepreneur roles.​
​Quite frankly, we shouldn't be all these roles for a multitude of reasons. Check out Who not How and Buy Back Your Time if you want to know why you shouldn't do every task in your business.
This book teaches much more including the need for processes (bottleneck anyone?), the life cycle of a business and developing a clear vision.

By now, most people have forgotten about their goals and new years resolutions, having fallen back into their typical routines and habits. And we're here to tell you that you don't need a new year, a new month or even a new week to start, to take action, to make a change.

New Year's Resolutions fail because we try to do too much at one time, we don't track it or have someone holding us accountable and we don't truly see it or feel it.

WHO DO YOU WANT TO BECOME?

We make goals like, save x dollars, and lose x weight, and make x sales.

We completely forget about the action involved in these goals

Think about your goals, and ask yourself these questions.
HOW are you going to do this?
WHO do you have to become?

For example, I want to lose 10lbs in fat, become and feel stronger in my body. Great goal, and it needs an action planI will do this by, lifting weights 5 times a week, ( - we're happy to take some notes here), focus on protein intake and nutritional meals Who do I need to become - Someone who respects their sleep schedule, and wakes up before the kids to get the work out in. Someone who meal preps on sundays to ensure there are healthy snacks and meals ready for the week. Someone who misses the binge worthy tv shows because I'm heading to bed early to achieve my wellness goals.

Give it a try - and don't forget to schedule it, track it, and rope others in, these all help with goal attainability.

Hillary is passionate about bringing balance and organization to day-to-day lives. She is the proud owner and operator of Divide and Conquer Concierge Services, which offers a holistic approach to work-life balance in the Guelph and Tri-City areas.

Hillary has always had a tremendous passion for helping people and making their lives easier, often in small but significant ways. When asked about one of the most satisfying aspects of her job, she always responds by saying that it’s crossing things off a to-do list.

Her main goal through Divide and Conquer is to give back one of the most precious commodities to her clients – their time.
