Overheard at a Chapter Meeting: A founder shared what they wished they knew in the early startup stage. A few people took notes, a few people shook their heads in agreement. Which one are you?
She shared that the website mattered less than she thought.

The so-called perfect offer changed three times.

And that it turned out that most of the opportunities that moved the business forward came from conversations, introductions, and being in the right rooms with the right person.

Startups can feel lonely because everything feels high stakes.

But hearing from people further down the road has a way of helping you stop overcomplicating the next step.

Remember: you don’t need to know everything, you just need to keep moving!

A funny thing happens when business owners get in a room together long enough.

Someone says, “I’m struggling with…”

And before they can even finish the sentence, someone else says:
“Oh ya, we dealt with that last year.”
Or: “Wait, call this person today.”
Or: “Can I tell you what I wish I’d done sooner?”

That’s one of the things people don’t always expect when they visit a Power Connects chapter.

We built it to be the polar opposite of the awkward networking events you're used to.

Instead, it’s people building businesses side by side and generously sharing what they’ve learned along the way.

Overheard at a Chapter Meeting:

“I thought burnout meant I was weak. But I was just carrying too much for too long.”

One business owner at the table shared how they kept waiting for the crash before taking capacity seriously.

It might look like saying yes to too much, putting yourself last or treating exhaustion like proof you work hard enough.

The hard-earned lesson she shared with the table was that burnout rarely shows up suddenly, all at once and you must protect your biggest asset: designing the way you’re operating before your body forces the issue.

Summer can be slower for some businesses. But there might *also* be a different way to look at it.

The people who do show up in the summer are often serious, motivated, ready to go and wanting to get things in motion before September arrives and everyone else steps back into action.

So maybe the CEO move isn’t all or nothing.

Maybe it’s more like rest AND stay visible.

Recharge and nurture relationships AND take the slower pace without fully checking out.

If you're an entrepreneur, freelancer, owner or CEO, you already know, if you want something you have to be intentional about it. If you want community, you have to seek it out.

It's not baked into our lives. We don't have an office with 50 people to gather 'round the water cooler or a ropes course to go to as a team once a year.

But we still need community! One where people know your goals, celebrate your wins, share what they’ve learned, and tell you the hard truth when you need it to hear it.
