A reset week for family visiting from the Yukon and Bob and me. An amazing forest bathing experience with Nature with Haida, a deeply resonating community Sound Bath in Madeira Park and a chance to experience our own new amenities at the Pointhouse with yoga, massage, saunas, ocean plunges, fire pit and meditation.
Grateful to have the time to connect surrounded by ocean, forests and lakes in this peaceful place.

Ship spotting is a fun pastime on the Sunshine Coast. You never know who might be cruising our waters.

Apparently, the owner of this gorgeous yacht writes books or something 😉🤓...
The yacht "Samsara" passed by our place as the light of day faded on Monday. The sunset that glowed a strange crimson red, filtered by pillowy clouds and wildfire smoke in the air, seemed a fitting scene for for a fantasy novelist to transit our waters. You see, Samsara is owned by author and philanthropist J.K. Rowling.
This gorgeous yacht is 290 feet in length with a beam of nearly 47 feet and was built by the Dutch shipyard Oceano in 2015 then refitted in 2023 around the time she was purchased by her current owner. Power is provided by twin 4828 horsepower engines which are fed by a fuel capacity of 280,000 litres (61,600 imperial gallons).
There are three tenders stored below deck ranging from 26 to 38 feet in length plus two jetskis and a bunch of other fun things to play with. It is also listed as having a helipad and helicopter hangar onboard.
Private charters can be booked with a crew of 28 to look after you and eleven of your friends for $1,275,000 per week (plus expenses)... that's only about $100,000 each... who's in?
