Although we started offering tours of Sable Island in 2017, our story with the island began over a century ago.

During World War I, our founder Geordie Mott's great-great-grandfather served as the island's superintendent. It was there that his daughter, Muriel, met William Mott, who had moved to the island to become a lifesaver. The two fell in love, eventually moving off the island to get married.

Geordie's deep family roots on Sable Island are a large part of what inspires his passion for sharing it with others today.

Once you see it, you can't unsee it. Meet the Lunenburg Bump!

What started as a way for historic shipbuilders to show off their carpentry skills quickly became a town-wide trend. Local craftsmen took the traditional five-sided Scottish dormer and extended it out and down over the front door, creating an architectural feature entirely unique to Lunenburg.
