A beautiful seasonal shift is underway on Sable Island. By this time of year, the marram grass has turned a rich golden brown, enhanced by the sun's lower position in the sky, and the bayberry plants take on their signature reddish autumn shades. Early October is one of the most unique and fleeting times on Sable's shores before the cold weather sets in and winter approaches.

Thank you's all around to everyone with the global team at the Land Administration Company who had us showcase Peggy's Cove & beautiful for them yesterday.

We designed a custom photo tour & contest with NS photo books as prizes. Big thanks to Suzanne s u z a n n e with help designing & delivering such a fantastic experience. Although we started offering tours of Sable Island in 2017, our story with the island began over a century ago.

During World War I, our founder Geordie Mott's great-great-grandfather served as the island's superintendent. It was there that his daughter, Muriel, met William Mott, who had moved to the island to become a lifesaver. The two fell in love, eventually moving off the island to get married.

Geordie's deep family roots on Sable Island are a large part of what inspires his passion for sharing it with others today.

Once you see it, you can't unsee it. Meet the Lunenburg Bump!

What started as a way for historic shipbuilders to show off their carpentry skills quickly became a town-wide trend. Local craftsmen took the traditional five-sided Scottish dormer and extended it out and down over the front door, creating an architectural feature entirely unique to Lunenburg.
