🚢 I’m back!

After a little time off... spent cruising, obviously 😏... I’m back to ship spotting in Halifax.

This week’s visitor was the Carnival Venezia, and she has a bit of an identity crisis 👀

If you look closely, you’ll notice the funnel still has the famous Costa “C” on it.

Why?

Because this ship actually started life as Costa Venezia before being transferred to Carnival Cruise Line.

Plot twist: Carnival Cruise Line is just one brand under Carnival Corporation, which also owns Princess, Holland America, Cunard, Costa, Seabourn and several others.

So technically... this ship never really left the family. 🚢🤝

I love little cruise ship Easter eggs like this. Most people see a cruise ship. I see corporate restructuring with a side of funnel branding 😂

What to Know Wednesday! When is the best time to cruise?

It really depends on what you’re looking for.

Hurricane season (Aug–Oct) can mean lower prices especially for
Caribbean itineraries, but stormier seas (and changed itineraries)!

School holidays = more families + higher prices but more kids for the kids and no missed school!

Off-peak = quieter ships, better price point, and maybe quieter ports

Shoulder season often has the best value.. it really is dependant on where you are headed!

And honestly… cruising to Halifax in the fall? So underrated 🍁

Ship Saturday 🚢

With our next cruise coming up, I thought I’d highlight the Norwegian Breakaway and I’ve set a goal…

Get a drink at every bar on the ship.

With 20+ bars and lounges onboard (including an actual ice bar), this might be a challenge!

This ship is known for its Waterfront, freestyle dining, and non-stop energy and I can’t wait to explore it.

Do you think I can hit every bar?
