Apparently, inviting people to visit a police station voluntarily is a pretty great tourism strategy! 🚨🚔

The first Hope RCMP Open House was such a success, and it was wonderful to see so many visitors walk through the doors. Around 500 people toured the cell block, met local officers and specialty units, checked out the police and emergency vehicles, asked questions and took plenty of photos!

For many visitors, especially those travelling internationally, meeting the RCMP is a uniquely Canadian experience. We loved seeing all the excitement throughout the day!

A huge thank you to the Hope RCMP detachment for opening the doors, making everyone feel so welcome and creating such a memorable event. Thank you as well to all the participating emergency services and organizations, and to everyone who came out!

Turns out the cell block really can be a tourist attraction. It just helps when everyone is allowed to leave afterward. 🚨💚

🎨 What an amazing weekend at the Hope Art Crawl!

It was such a wonderful opportunity to welcome visitors into local homes and studios, introduce them to the artists behind the work and show just how talented and creative Hope truly is. 💚

Among those enjoying the Art Crawl were visitors from New Zealand, Australia, China, Poland, San Diego, Seattle, Lethbridge, Edmonton, North Vancouver, Surrey and White Rock, along with many of our Fraser Valley neighbours from Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Agassiz and Harrison Mills!

Hope had a very international art audience this weekend, and we loved it! 🌎🎨

A huge thank you to the artists, organizers and everyone who explored, admired, shopped and helped make the Hope Art Crawl such a special weekend. 💚

⚽💚 ONE LAST LOOK BACK AT KICKIN’ IT IN HOPE!

We’re wrapping up our KICKIN’ IT IN HOPE memories with Sunday - and what a way to finish the weekend!

We started at Silver Creek Elementary with our free Community Soccer Games, where adults, teenagers and kids were all united by one thing: a common love of soccer. ⚽ There were games, prizes, face painting and plenty of soccer spirit!

A huge thank you to Randy Taylor and his incredible team for making the morning happen. Randy’s love for soccer and community goes far beyond simply loving the game - he inspires that same excitement in others, and you can see just how much the younger players look up to him. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you! 💚

Then we headed to Almsgiving Hope Cinema & Performance House for our FREE screening of the FIFA World Cup 26™ Final - and the theatre was FULL! It was such a great venue for that game!

We had so many visitors from outside of Hope join us, and it was lovely meeting soccer fans from near and far. The cheers, screams, tension and celebrations made watching the final together so much more fun. ⚽🎬

And just like that, three days of KICKIN’ IT IN HOPE came to an end.

Thank you to every volunteer, business, organization and partner who helped make the weekend happen. And a special thank you to our locals for welcoming our visitors and sharing what Hope does best - coming together, sharing the excitement, having fun and making everyone feel like they’re part of the community. 💚
