I’ve been very lucky to be invited into different museums and explore their collections of incredible fossils.

This particular fossil was found in the 19th century by Sir William Dawson. Most people would walk right by this rock without noticing anything special.

But Sir William saw things in the rocks that others didn’t. He spent countless hours searching for the next great find while piecing together the image of what we now know Joggins looked like over 300 million years ago.

This fossil is called *Hylonomus lyelli* — the oldest known reptile fossil in the world.

While exploring our backyard beach, our daughter spotted something unusual in the rocks — a beautifully preserved fossil fern, over 3 million years old.

Moments like this are why the Bay of Fundy is one of the most extraordinary coastlines on Earth. New discoveries happen here every single day… even when you’re not looking for them.
