Frost Bites 2026 was a total hit! 🍔🍕🌮 A huge thank you to the nine local restaurants that served up incredible specialty meals all March long.
Big congrats to Jim Corbett, our "Night Out in Kenora" Passport prize winner! 🎉 We also debuted the People's Choice award this year, and you picked a winner: the DI Island Boy Burger from The Boathouse Lakeside Grill is officially the fan favourite! 🏆🔥

Happy national Tourism week.
Be sure to check out all of our amazing tourist and community attractions right here in Kenora ..

It’s National Tourism Week, and few sectors demonstrate resilience like tourism, continuing to deliver strong performance as a key export despite ongoing geopolitical and economic pressures.🌍

In Northern Ontario, tourism remains a proven engine of growth. It brings new dollars into the region, supports local employment, and strengthens communities across the North. As a strategic investment, tourism generates measurable economic returns while supporting today’s businesses and building long-term regional resilience.

Here’s what that impact looked like in Northern Ontario in 2025:

✔️ Visitor spending reached $2.8 billion in 2024 (up 9.6% year over year) and grew to $3.1 billion in 2025
✔️ International spending climbed from $48 million in 2023 to $81 million in 2024
✔️ 91% of tourism revenues remain in Northern Ontario, directly supporting local businesses and communities
✔️ Up to 40% of regional jobs are tied to tourism (direct + indirect)
