It's a last long weekend of the summer Music Extravaganza!

The weather can't decide if it wants to work with us or not, but we wanted to ring out Summer 2026 in style, and we're going to try! Hope for sunshine, bring your dinner by or order from any of Kimberley's great restaurants and come enjoy a lot of music this weekend!

Here's the latest update from Kimberley Alpine Resort about their new Tamarack Quad Chair that is replacing the Tamarack Double Chair. The concrete foundations for the lift towers have been poured and the lift towers will be installed next. They're still aiming for a December 2026 opening!

Effective at 12 p.m. (noon) Pacific Time on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Category 1 campfires will be permitted throughout the Southeast Fire Centre, which includes the Rocky Mountain Natural Resource District and the Selkirk Natural Resource District.

Other activities which were previously included in the Category 1 campfire prohibition (The use of sky lanterns, and the use of wood fired hot tubs, wood fired pizza ovens and other wood fired devices unless vented through a structure that has a flue and is incorporated in a building) will now be permitted in the Southeast Fire Centre.

Category 2 and 3 open fire as defined in the Wildfire Regulation remains prohibited.
