Spring has sprung and the starlings have arrived. This is kind of an unappreciated bird species (that is also in the UK) but when you take a closer look at them you might find them quite interesting.

With iridescent, purple and blue feathers and yellow beaks, their colouring makes up for their short tails. Vocally, they make a strange cacophony of whistles and clicks and can even mimic. Lastly, these large flocks fly in beautiful murmurations in the sky before they settle down for the night. You’ve probably seen large groups of birds flying altogether in unison making these wild shapes.

Best of all, they eat spiders, snails, and ants.

Highways opening up, still snow covered in many places according to 511.ca . My guys were all snug in their beds for the worst of it.

Highway 21 and Bruce Road 23 are both now OPEN. That concludes the road closures in area. ^mt
