Late August has the topwater bite on fire.
Smallmouths are pushing smelts to the surface all over the lake and all species are getting in on the feeding.
Sight fishing can be great on the calmer days, surface baits for Smallmouth Bass and Grandpa's Tackle Box Jig heads with paddle tails retrieved below the Bass for lurking walleye and pike , and heavier jigs and tube baits for Lakers watching from below in 45-65 fow.
Multispecies fishing in one spot and the fish show you were they are !!!

Grandpa's Tackle Box Custom Jigs were the ticket again yesterday to some great catches on Lake Kipawa
Multi species fishing for Blue Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass.

Aug 1 and the Walleye are starting to show up at their deeper summertime haunts, they have left the 3-4' depths they have been hunting in and starting to group up on 15-25' structure.

The Smallmouth Bass are still hunting crayfish in the shallows, and pushing bait balls of minnows to the surface on steep rocky points and shoals.

The Lake Trout are cruising the big 50-70' flats.

August is a great time for Multispecies Fishing - the odd Northern Pike shows up in all the spots.
