Feeling frustrated and deflated today. All my time and hard work for nothing.

Friends, using a travel agent to plan a trip and then using my itinerary to book it yourself isn't a "travel hack"—it is taking someone's professional labour without paying them. Most agents like me only earn money through commissions. When you take my plan and book independently, I get paid zero for hours of hard work. If you value the expertise it takes to plan a seamless vacation, respect the professional. Please support the small businesses and independent experts who keep your adventures stress-free!

Travel has a way of changing you—not just in the places you see, but in the way you understand the world and your place within it.
A few years ago, I had the privilege of working with Prof. Geoff Hayes of the University of Waterloo on a Battlefields Tour of Northern France. Walking those landscapes, hearing the stories, and standing where history unfolded left a lasting mark on me. It wasn’t just about learning—it was about feeling the weight of sacrifice in a very real and personal way.
That experience stayed with me, and it inspired me to volunteer with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
Today, I completed my first visit—monitoring, recording, and performing maintenance on the grave of a young man who died in service to our country and the Commonwealth… just three weeks before the end of the Great War.
Three weeks.
It’s impossible not to reflect on the life he never got to live, and the countless others who gave everything. Standing there today was both humbling and deeply meaningful.
Travel can open your eyes—but sometimes, it also opens your heart and calls you to act.
Today, I am incredibly grateful for their service. We remember them. Always.

Yesterday, Jon and I re-visited Trafalgar Square, and tried to see the exhibit at Canada House, but unfortunately, it was closed. We then went our separate ways. Jon walked over to the Imperial War Museum and I went to visit some old friends at the National Portrait Gallery.

I am writing as we sit in a lounge at Heathrow waiting for our flight home. Our last 3 days have been spent in London exploring some new areas like Camden, Camden Lock Market, Regent's Canal and Little Venice.
