🔥 FIRE BAN & OHV RESTRICTION IN EFFECT 🔥

Due to extreme fire hazard conditions, Smoky Lake County has upgraded the current fire restriction to a full FIRE BAN starting 8:00 a.m. on April 28, 2025, until further notice.

🚫 NO OUTDOOR FIRES PERMITTED

This includes:

Campfires
Open fires
Brush piles
Burning barrels
Fireworks

🚫 NO NEW FIRE PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED
All previously issued permits are cancelled.

🚫 OHV USE IS RESTRICTED
Operation of Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) on municipal property, highways, permitted areas, or trails in Smoky Lake County is not allowed during the fire ban.

✅ What is allowed?

Propane/gas BBQs with lids
Liquid-fueled camping stoves
Propane fire pits

🔥 Violators may be prosecuted and will be responsible for fire suppression costs under Bylaw 1285-15.

There are many areas of exposed dry grass across the province following the snow melt. Until we receive significant rain, these areas will remain very flammable.
