Big news for anyone dreaming of wide-open trails, walks through history or ocean views — admission to all Parks Canada administered places will be free from June 20 to September 2 inclusive and camping reservations will be 25% discounted. No pass needed!

As we inch closer to our official Bicentennial Commemoration Week of August 1-10, we want to put a spotlight on each event happening during that week so you're aware of everything you can see and do! This week, we're focusing on our bus tours.

Our "Kinoomaage Waapkong and Petroglyphs Provincial Park" bus tour is happening on Saturday, August 9 from 9:30am to 2:30pm. This tour will take you to Petroglyphs Provincial Park, traditionally known as Kinoomaage Waapkong and home to the largest concentration of pre-contact First Nations Petroglyphs in Canada.

Managed in partnership with Curve Lake First Nation and Ontario Parks, this site, with over 1000 different carved images ranging in age from 600 to 6000 years old and reflecting the rich cultural and spiritual life of the Anishinaabeg who carved the, is recognized as a sacred and spiritual area for many First Nations.

At the park, you'll receive a guided tour of the Teaching Rocks, which includes approximately 30 minutes of easy walking on accessible and level trails. Tickets to this tour cost $35 each and include transportation to and from the Holiday Inn in Peterborough, the guided tour and a box lunch that can be enjoyed on-site after the tour.
