One of our most recent adventurers James successfully finished his 12 day Jungle Trekking and survival trip in the remote Kanuku mountains of Guyana! Here is his review:
Hi both,
Apologies for the delay - had to do a hasty trip back to the UK for work!
So comments as follows.
The jungle and the guides.
This experience is really something quite special, the trip of a lifetime. The guides knew the jungle inside and out and were the warmest of companions for the trip with perpetual morale and banter whilst also being instructional, particularly around jungle safety at all times. They tailored the trip as we went, which was perfect for me - particularly at moments I was keen for us to go harder (hike further), and they were happy to oblige and up the pace. In my view, having a flexible schedule on a trip like this is spot on. We did end up coming out a little early, but not for anything beyond we did so many activities and completed the hike back in one day! Which also gave us a couple of days to engage with the local tribes and local activities, which was an astounding experience.
This trip is not for everyone don't underestimate the rigorousness of the trip and sleeping out under the jungle canopy. I was of course glad to eventually have a hot shower, but the arduousness nature of living and surviving in such a climate was exactly my desire and expectation and was very much delivered upon.
Transport and logistics
All drivers and logistics was seem-less, with all being very good natured and friendly.
Absolutely amazing guys, thanks for organizing everything and please let me know if you have any follow up questions or requests from me.
Many thanks,
James
