Hi everyone,
If you have dined in with us before, it’s likely that you know me. I’m Minji, the daughter of the owners of this restaurant. I’m writing this on behalf of my parents, who are not very tech savvy.
I would like to first and foremost thank everyone for their overwhelming love these last 6 years we’ve been open. COVID particularly has been extremely tough (we’re sure-for everybody), and we wouldn’t have been able to stay afloat without your encouraging words and support.
We are unfortunately writing this post due to some unforeseen circumstances with a new customer. The details of this incident will not be discussed, as we are currently looking to seek legal advice.
It has been suggested that we are not following COVID protocols and safety procedures, and we thought we would be incredibly transparent with you on what’s going on, considering that our customers have been what has gotten us through-especially this last year and a half.
My dad, the chef, works in the kitchen with my mom. Just the two of them. I also work with them occasionally, as many of you know and we have no other employees at this current time. He does not wear a mask when he cooks, and this is not against COVID safety protocols.
As per WORKSAFE BC STATES (https://www.worksafebc.com/en/covid-19/industry-specific-information/restaurant-cafes-pubs),
In the kitchen, you are only required to consider wearing masks as an additional measure when it is not possible to maintain physical distancing at all times. Because we only work with our core bubble, there isn’t a need to wear a mask unless we’re serving our customers, because we wouldn’t be able to physically distance ourselves safely (as per protocol states).
We’ve also contacted BC services (1-800-663-7867) to confirm this information, which they have done so with us, and I’m sure they’d be able to also answer any questions you have also.
My dad is extremely immunocompromised himself, and he’s been very careful in keeping our restaurant tidy and safe so that everyone can feel as secure as possible when dining with us.
We’re incredibly sorry if this has ever made you feel uncomfortable at any point in time. However, rest assured, we are following all protocols that we’ve received both regionally and provincially.
We take health and safety protocols extremely seriously, and would not put our customers in any danger or risk despite accusations that may suggest otherwise.
Thank you so much for reading and thank you once again for your support and love. We hope to continue to serve you in the years to come.
