Italy Trip - Post #3 Positano and the Amalfi Coast

We spent a day exploring Positano and along the Amalfi Coast. It started out rainy and dreary and ended up so sunny and beautiful. I only wish the photos of Positano were at the end of the day when it was clearer outside.

Driving starting leaving Sorrento, then to Positano (where we stopped and walked down the MANY MANY steps to get down to the waterfront), and then onto the town of Amalfi where we got a lemon sorbet, through the small village of Atrani, and finished in the hillside town of Ravello, where we got one of the best lunches of our whole trip!!

Driving here isn’t for the faint of heart, traffic was insane here - busy, narrow roads that winded along steeps cliffs with scooters and people walking everywhere - it was crazy!! Picturesque views every new turn we took. We wandered through Villa Rufolo which is a beautiful villa in the historical centre of Ravello, dating back to the 13th century. It had such amazing sea views and gardens.

Italy Post #2 - Sorrento

Some more of our Italy trip - Today’s post has a few pictures of the beautiful town of Sorrento in the Amalfi Coast. To simple say that the waterfront with the dramatic cliffs and the view of the Bay of Naples was breathtaking wouldn’t even start to describe it correctly. We enjoyed quite a few Aperol Spritz’s and Espressos at the waterfront and hunted out all of the best Gelato and cannoli shoppes just so we could compare which one was the best.

We stayed at the Palazzo Marziale () which is a 13 room, luxury boutique hotel in a historic 15th-century palazzo, right in the heart of Sorrento. An amazing property that we would recommend to anyone staying in this area.

The waterfront and port was a great place to walk off all of the treats that we ate while were here - one night we ate under the lemon trees at a restaurant which was pretty fun.

Crazy traffic though - the people riding scooters are crazy and they weave in and out of traffic!!!
