Eligible adult Canadians can renew their passport online through the IRCC Portal. You must have a Canadian address, no urgent travel needs for the next 20 business days, and a digital photo from a commercial photographer.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Your current passport is expiring within 6 months or has already expired.
- Your previous passport was issued when you were 16 or older and within the last 15 years.
- Your name, date of birth, place of birth, and gender identifier remain the exact same.
- Your current passport is not damaged, lost, stolen, or seized.
What You Need to Apply:
- A digital passport photo taken by a commercial photographer (not a selfie or scanned copy).
- Your current valid or recently expired passport details.
- A credit or debit card to pay the renewal fee ($122.50 for a 5-year passport or $163.50 for a 10-year passport).
- Two references who have known you for at least two years.
