LUNENBURG LOST (location-based adventure)

(unlike our other adventures which can be played from your living room, you must be able to travel to Lunenburg, NS (Canada) to play this adventure)

When John Creighton returned from Boston after being taken prisoner during the Sack of Lunenburg in 1782, he brought back a mysterious object he called the 'sacratium'. Fearful of its powers, he buried it so no one could find it. In 2022, a local historian stumbled on clues to its location but ran into trouble looking for it and she is now counting on your help before it falls into the wrong hands.

You will receive a package from the historian with handmade letters, maps, cards, notes and other items that you will need to combine to solve the mystery ... and there is a real treasure at the end for all players!

Based on historical figures, facts and locations, this adventure will get you walking around Lunenburg landmarks to decipher secret messages and solve puzzles. Knowledge of the history of Lunenburg is not necessary but an internet connection is required to solve some of the clues before you head for the town.

- Suitable for all ages but probably more interesting for those aged 12-15.

- The treasure is not hidden in Lunenburg: at the end of the adventure, the player emails the decrypted location to the historian who will mail the treasure to the player.

SECOND SPARKS - DETECTIVE AGENCY
An online treasure adventure fpr 8-12 year olds

PRODUCT INFO

The player is a candidate applying join an exclusive detective agency and must solve several puzzles before they can be hired.

Every week for four weeks, the player receives items and handwritten postcards in the mail with clues to missing words in a sentence. When the sentence is complete, they email the detective agency and they receive a detective badge and business cards.

In total, the player will receive the following items: 2 letters, 4 large postcards, 6 small postcards, 1 cipher ring with lanyard, 1 leather badge holder with an accreditation badge, a pack of 10 business cards.

Each clue will take about 1 hour to solve.

The player never corresponds with a real person: email replies are automated.

The images in the gallery are representative of what the player will receive but since some cards are unique, actual items will be slightly different.

DIFFICULTY

The clues in this adventure do not require specific knowledge, but the player might need access to the internet and/or a clever or adult friend to figure out the clues.

Each clue will take about 1 hour to solve and can be checked as the player progresses, to prevent straying in the wrong direction.

The subject matter of the clues and the content of the postcards is appropriate for children but probably won't be interesting to those under 8 or over 12.

Recommended for those who like straightforward clues, which can be checked as you go along.

Not recommended for those who like difficult adventures with red herrings.

DESCRIPTION

Your friend Lia found a text written in ancient meroitic beneath the ruins of the Meroë pyramids in the Sudan. An archeologist translated the message for her, but the content is so explosive that the archeologist immediately encrypted the translation without showing anyone.

Now the archeologist has disapeared and your friend needs your help to decrypt his translation ... and discover what has remained hidden under a boulder for 3,000 years and why it's important today.

Each clue will take about 1-2 hours to solve and will require access to the internet or to a very clever know-it-all friend.

The player never corresponds with a real person: email replies are automated.

The postcards and treasures in the picture gallery are representative of what the player will receive but the actual items won't necessarily be those exact ones.

Recommended for those who like searching, trying, getting it wrong, retracing their steps and tyring again for hours.

A solicitor whose firm has been holding onto a mysterious box for 650 years sends you a letter: you are the recipient of the box's contents, left by your ancestor who didn't trust his contemporaries with the astrounding discovery he made.

Following the clues on the back of 'parchment' scraps, you will find out what the box contains and use the map to track down where it is so the sollicitor can retrieve the box for you. But is the world really ready for its contents now?
