We've just come across an idea to help support the people of Ukraine. People around the world are starting to book Airbnbs in different cities in the country—check to make sure they are being managed by individuals and not a larger company. Airbnb will take their commission, yes, but so will many organizations that collect donations at large. If you book the soonest available dates it helps to get the money directly to the host as soon as possible.

Here are some words from a recent contributor that inspired us to book:

"I want to get money directly to the people, and quickly! It cost less than a typical trip to Target or Costco. 😭🇺🇦🙏

I booked the soonest available dates, that helps the host get paid faster. I’m chatting with them now. They are so grateful. I’ve booked two rooms. One is being used to host volunteers for the war effort and the other cannot rent their room because of damage, they are living in the basement. They can feel the love and support from Canada they said.

I just booked 3 nights at $35 a night! - happy to pass on the idea for others interested in helping!"

WE'RE STILL OPEN! In regards to COVID 19, to-date in 2020 we have not hosted any international travellers and currently have no upcoming bookings from guests outside of Atlantic Canada. All of our guests this year have been from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. We are still operating as usual and accepting bookings if you need to escape your quarantine for a few days! In between bookings our cottages are cleaned top to bottom and all surfaces are being disinfected.

Stay safe everyone. You don't have to go far to get away ;)
