What's coming up in and around Marmora and Lake? Take a look at our upcoming events:

September 18-20 ➡️ Check out the Madoc Fair (45 Cooper Road, Madoc) for fun, food and activities for the whole family. 🎡

September 19 ➡️ The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 237 - Marmora is hosting a meat roll at 2 p.m. $2 a spin to win a turkey or ham! 🍖 Everyone is welcome.

September 20 ➡️ The Marmora & Area Curling Club is hosting a registration day at the Curling Club (2 Crawford Drive) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.🥌 Come out, have some snacks, and meet new people. And remember - anyone can curl!

September 20 ➡️ The annual Terry Fox Run is happening in Memorial Park. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. and the run takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by to participate, or make a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation.

September 23 ➡️ St. John's Anglican Church Madoc Ontario is having a Loonie Auction and lunch at 12 p.m. Lunch is $5 and is followed by the auction. Bring your Loonies and have fun bidding.

September 26 ➡️ Marmora's annual Scarecrow Festival is back! Mark your calendars for a day of pumpkin decorating, kids talent show, live music, tea room, vendors market, and more! Held on Forsyth Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 🎃👻

September 26 ➡️ Do you have the best apple pie in Marmora? 🥧 Enter it into the apple pie contest at Off the Porch Crafts & Gifts on Saturday, September 25 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. This event is part of the Scarecrow Festival.

Until October 4 ➡️ Marmora Public School (MPS) has the opportunity to fundraise through Indigo! From now until October 4, you can donate to MPS through any in-store Indigo purchase in Belleville. Visit their page for an online link to donate.

SMALL BUSINESS FUNDING OPPORTUNITY

Applications are now open for the Rural Ontario Development (ROD) Program: Small Business stream.

ROD is a rural-focused funding program provided through the Government of Ontario.

Businesses can get 35% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of $10,000 in funding for a Project under the ROD Program.

The project must fit into one or more of the project types, including:

☑️ Market development
☑️ Enhancing cyber security
☑️ Succession planning
☑️ Accessibility improvements

Applications are due by October 1, 2026, at 5 p.m.

In just a few weeks, Marmora Pentecostal Church is hosting Fall Fest - a free family event - in Memorial Park.

⏰Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026
📆Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
🎉Details: Booths and games, hay hunt for the kids, a BBQ hosted by the Marmora Lions Club, and more!

☀️ Summer is coming to an end. ☀️

And what a summer it’s been! We have welcomed visitors from as far away as Australia 🦘 at our tourism centre.

This is the last week to visit the centre before we say goodbye for another season on August 31.

Until then, we are open every day, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
