Fishing isn’t just something I do — it’s who I am. I’ve been fishing my entire life, learning the craft the same way it’s been passed down through generations in my family. My father taught me, just as his father, Douglas Gullett Sr., taught him. That legacy of knowledge, respect for the water, and love for the outdoors has shaped not only how I fish, but how I teach.
Over the years, I’ve dedicated countless hours to expanding that foundation — studying techniques, understanding fish behavior, refining skills, and learning how to read the water in every season. To me, fishing is more than a sport; it’s a connection to nature, a source of peace, and a lifelong skill that deserves to be shared and encouraged at every age and experience level.
When you purchase one of my lessons, you’re not just booking time on the water — you’re investing in a hands-on, personal learning experience. I confidently guarantee three things:
1. A deeper understanding and appreciation of the outdoors.
You’ll walk away with a stronger connection to nature, a better understanding of marine ecosystems, and a genuine respect for the fish and environments we enjoy. Fishing teaches patience, awareness, and stewardship — lessons that last far beyond the shoreline.
2. Practical skills that build real confidence.
Whether you’re brand new or looking to take your skills to the next level, you’ll learn everything you need to begin your journey as a serious angler. From tying knots and rigging lines to identifying species and practicing proper handling and conservation techniques, no detail is overlooked.
3. A relaxed, stress-free learning environment.
My lessons are designed to be welcoming, supportive, and engaging. I encourage questions, hands-on learning, and open conversation — because the best lessons happen when you’re comfortable, curious, and having fun.
If you’re ready to learn from generations of experience and create memories on the water that will last a lifetime, I’d be honored to teach you.
I hope to see you all this spring. 🎣
