Welcome to the team… Travis barker!
My name is Travis Baker. I’m 29 years old, originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and recently relocated to Shediac, New Brunswick. I’ve been involved in hunting and fishing for as long as I can remember, often tagging along with my father long before I could even walk. If it weren’t for him introducing me to the outdoors at such a young age, I likely would never have experienced the incredible privilege this lifestyle offers. Some of my greatest memories come from the countless hours we spent together in the woods, making the most of every bit of our free time.
Waterfowling means far more to me than simply getting out and harvesting birds. It’s about connecting with nature and truly becoming part of your surroundings. It’s the early mornings and late evenings spent scouting, studying the landscape, and figuring out where the next hunt should take place—and why. Most importantly, it’s about spending time with close friends and family, creating memories that can be shared for years and passed down to future generations.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to introduce several close friends to the sport. Watching them fall in love with waterfowling the same way I did has made all the effort and hard work incredibly rewarding.
Through years of experience, learning from my father, watching countless videos, and connecting with other passionate waterfowlers, I’ve continued to grow in the sport. That passion eventually led my good friend Curtis Knott and me to start our own YouTube channel, Maritime Pursuit. Through the channel, we showcase our hunts across the Maritimes and hope to expand even further in the future.
Those who know me understand that when it comes to gear, I believe in using the very best. That’s why I’m proud and excited to be part of the GK Calls Pro Staff and Gundog Outfitters team. Both companies share my passion for waterfowling and maintain the same commitment to quality gear that delivers proven results in the field.
