I’ve been quiet here for a while… and honestly, life has been a whirlwind.

The past few months have been intense—living in Tanzania for three months, setting up a new home, hosting a group trip, and spending the holidays with Vicent’s family. Then, just as I thought things would settle, tragedy struck…

The landlords two dogs were poisoned, and they didn’t survive. My heart broke for them, but I found myself focused on Niki—who escaped the horrible faith of the other two dogs on the compound.

Then came the hardest part: leaving. I returned to Canada, but part of me stayed behind in Tanzania. The guilt of leaving my Tanzanian life, of leaving Niki… it weighed on me (it does every time I have to go back to Canada). And as if that wasn’t enough, I came back just in time to face my grandmother’s last days.

I needed a break. From everything. And that included social media.

But today, I’m here. Slowly finding my way back. One step at a time.

👉 Have you ever taken a break from something you love because life just got too heavy? How did you find your way back?

This is how you do it! 🥾

So I’ve been wanting to get rubber boots at the market. They sell them everywhere and they are cheap. Might sound funny but Tanzania is muddy. And…there are bugs and crawling creatures. Anyway, haven’t purchased the rubber boots yet. So I decided to improvise.

What do you think?

Strangers are just friends waiting to happen!

Our trip is coming to an end. I will miss this group of goddesses! We got lost, well some of us, we laughed, we ate, we drank, we sang, and most importantly we made a connection to Tanzania and to each other. If all our future group trips will be like this one then we will have created a tribe of gorgeous souls like the four who have joined on this past trip.

Forever part of our tribe.
Nakupenda sana! 💚

My first time in Istanbul. Short but sweet. Amazing experience! I’m so happy that I allow myself to experience amazing adventures. Pushing through the fear and anxiety. It’s really true what they say: “Everything you’ve ever wanted is sitting on the other side of fear.”

Just a girl who decided to go for it

This is what was written on the first page of the month of March 2020 in my planner. It is also the month that I decided to go live in Tanzania. Coincidence? I’m not sure.

It all started with a safari. And then somehow I kept wanting to go back to this country. Follow me on my adventure.
