Kuala Lumpur is the most underrated city in Southeast Asia I’ve visited and people don’t give it the time it deserves.
Most people usually treat KL like as a quick stopover, but once you slow down, you realize this city has so much to offer.
You have a mix of cultures, different neighborhoods, beautiful temples, and an amazing food scene. The contrast makes it such an exciting city.
If you’re planning a trip, here’s how to spend 3 days in Kuala Lumpur:
Day 1:
• Petronas Twin Towers + KLCC Park (of course)
• Visit one of the many rooftops for skyline views
• Explore Bukit Bintang area
• Jalan Alor night market for food
Day 2:
• Batu Caves (go early before it gets too busy and too hot)
• Little India
• Thean Hou Temple
• Chinatown + Central Market
Day 3:
• KL Forest Eco Park
• Day trip: Genting Highlands, Ipoh, Putra Mosque
• Slow it down with cafes + spa time + restaurants
When to visit Kuala Lumpur:
March to October is generally best, with less rain. Expect HEAT and HUMIDITY. early mornings and evenings are the best time to explore.
I loved Kuala Lumpur and if you’re only planning one night here… you’re missing out on a lot!
Save this for your Malaysia trip.
