Fraser's Market Cabins - East Arrow Park

Fraser's Market Cabins - East Arrow Park 3 off grid, cabins & bee farm, await those seeking more than a bed. We are the link between the West Kootenay backcountry and the beaten path.

Built for adventurers, seeking authentic experiences, brought to them by hosts who are explorers themselves. We are a small agritourism accommodation, offering micro, off-grid Cabins, products created using farm grown produce and honey. Mid 2024, we will begin to offer farm and bee tours.

It was the day our world became quiet. I was in the boardroom, of our office in downtown Ottawa. I walked out and into the office of my co-worker and she said.... 'I dont know if this is real, but if it is, a plane just flew into one of the World Trade towers.' It was real, the rest of us gathered around her desk and watched as the second plane hit. I called Jeff... he had seen it too. The way we looked and experienced life, changed that day, for all of us.

25 years later, the memory is still as vivid as the moment it happened. I am still in contact with three of those people who where in that office with me that morning. Our lives are all different today.

Maybe, that day put us on a course to where we are today - maybe it just made us a tiny bit more cynical - maybe it made us a bit more vulnerable. One thing is for sure - it changed us.

The best time of day? .... That would be when the sun breaks on to the mountains. If you look closely every morning you can note the subtle changes as fall sets in. Just a hint that the Larches will soon burst into their fall glory.

Four exceptionally hard working, Wildland Firefighters; Nick, Ian, Jay and Louis of Outland Forestry, Golden BC, decided to make our cabins, their place to rest while they completed the last four days of their deployment on the Inonoaklin Creek wildfire.

When one door closes....... another really does open. (Louis, Nick, Ian, missing Jay) Thank you guys - for all that you endure, your kindness and your consideration. We are grateful!

Hosting for us, truly is about the exceptional humans we are privileged to meet.

Travel safe, travel often!

When the work day is done, we take the dogs to the beach. Summer vibes live well into September in this part of the West Kootenay Rockies.

Guests often ask what 'inspired' us to create such a peaceful and relaxing accommodation. The answer lies within Kirishima Higashi Shrine, 10 minutes from our Japanese home.

We will never forget our first visit. It was close to 5pm and the Shrine Caretaker was leaving for the day, we were the last people there. He came to find us as we walked down the stairs and offered us a close up of the inner sanctuary. We followed him in silence, blessed to receive such a gift.

Hidden in the mountains above Lake Miike, Kirishima Higashi Shrine rests in the birthplace of Japanese creation myths—a sacred forest where the line between nature and the divine blurs.

Stepping inside that quiet hall, surrounded by ancient trees left a lasting impression on us. That deep sense of stillness, intention, and harmony with the surrounding forest is the very same atmosphere we strive to cultivate for our guests at Fraser’s Market Cabins. We want every stay here to offer that same peaceful retreat into nature.

18 months of studies. 3 final exams (field, research and written), numerous research projects along the way to achieve this. It was worth every bit of the effort. In the coming weeks I'll be offering a few hands on beekeeping courses - it's now time to share the knowledge.

We give our guests an opportunity to join me in the bee yard. Many have done so over the past two seasons. Here are just a few. Perhaps I can inspire a few to take up the challenge of becoming a beekeeper.
