We are grateful to the First people of Canada, who have been stewards of this land since time immemorial. Nestled along Canada's West Coast, the Vancouver Island region is a paradise of tranquil islands, pristine coastlines, and emerald forests, where the ever-present Pacific Ocean shapes the scenery and softens the climate. Lush old-growth rainforests where the trees form a cool canopy over hikin

g trails, sparkling wave-swept beaches that stretch for miles, majestic mountains with glittering glaciers and snow-capped peaks, crystal-clear rivers teeming with fish, sun-dappled lakes surrounded by parkland, alpine meadows filled with wildflowers, rolling vistas of farmland and vineyards — it's one awe-inspiring view after another. And whether you are strolling on a beach or cycling a country lane, watching an artist at work or enjoying a seafood feast on a sunny patio, you feel the magic of being on an island surrounded by the magnificence of the Pacific Ocean. The Vancouver Island region is acclaimed by travellers from around the world.

🌈 Happy Pride Month! As a proud Rainbow Registered organization, we're committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive Vancouver Island for everyone - not just during Pride Month, but year-round.

We believe travel is best when you can simply be yourself. Whether you're exploring a hidden beach, hiking a forest trail, or discovering a new favourite Island community, you belong here.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity, resilience, and contributions of 2SLGBTQI+ communities on Vancouver Island and beyond. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Because belonging isn't just for June, it's part of who we are.

4TVI is proud to partner with the Pacific Whale Watch Association (PWWA) and the North Island Marine Mammal Stewardship Association (NIMMSA) to launch the latest ‘For the Whales’ campaign video.

By adhering to strict localized codes of conduct and federal safety regulations—including new mandatory 1,000-metre viewing distance from endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales and 200 metres for other killer whales taking effect this June—PWWA and NIMMSA member operators ensure that wildlife encounters remain safe and respectful.

By choosing professional operators, travelers ensure their experience directly supports marine conservation and respects the natural boundaries of wildlife in their home environment.

Watch the new campaign video to learn how we can all practice responsible travel and support the long-term health of Vancouver Island’s marine ecosystems. 👇

From peaks to kelp forests, our island is a giant game of Jenga; and every species keeps the tower standing. 🌲🦦

For International Day for Biological Diversity, we’re shouting out the Marmot Recovery Foundation . They’re saving the Vancouver Island Marmot, a "local" found nowhere else on Earth. Turns out, we really need these grumpy, whistling alpine residents! ⛰️🐹

So please, stick to trails, pack out your trash, and let wildlife of all kinds find their own snacks. Let’s keep our biodiversity as iconic as the views. 🌊✨

It’s World Bee Day! 🐝 Take a moment today to see if you can spot our local pollinators at work. To keep our corner of the world blooming, we’re asking everyone to be mindful of bee habitats. Please avoid picking wildflowers or disturbing nesting areas where these tiny heroes thrive. Let's protect the buzz! 🌺🐝️

Who says Mother’s Day gets to have all the fun? While the official day has come and gone, your need for a "do not disturb" sign definitely hasn’t.

If you’ve live in the Comox Valley and have been running on caffeine and sheer willpower lately, consider this your official permission slip to trade the chaos for some coastal calm. You work hard and provides pure, unadulterated bliss; honestly, it’s a match made in West Coast heaven!

Go on, treat yourself and book that facial or massage. Your future, much more relaxed self is already thanking you. ✨

Ever wondered how we can keep our coastal waters a true sanctuary for the giants of the deep? 🐋 When you’re out exploring the "Infinite Coast," picking a responsible tour operator is the best way to make sure these whales keep coming back for generations.

Keep an eye out for crews that align with and . These pros live by "Be Whale Wise" rules: slowing down to 7 knots, keeping a respectful distance, and flying the yellow Whale Warning flag. It’s all about a relaxed, low-impact approach that lets the wildlife stay wild while we get a front-row seat to the magic.

No matter where you’re launching from, making stewardship part of the trip is just how we do things out here.

If you need us, we’ll be at Penny’s Palapa pretending we’re in the tropics with wearther like this! They’ve expanded the patio, so there’s plenty of room for you to grab a Hibiscus Margarita (or three) and some fish tacos that honestly taste like a vacation. 🍹🌮

Best part? Your dog is invited too, so you don’t even have to feel guilty about staying for "just one more." Grab a seat on the dock, soak up those harbor views, and let the vacation vibes take over. 🌊🐾

Just a heads up: if you actually hit that third margarita, we hope you're walking home or have a designated captain for your ride. See you on the dock! ⚓️😉
