Caz is three, and this trip he actually helped set up the tent. Not staged for a photo, actually holding poles and being part of it. Moments like that are the whole reason we keep doing this.

Spent time on something most guests will never notice unless they need it. Built out an international page on campwreck.com in German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. A lot of our guests come from far outside Vancouver Island, and figuring out gear rentals in a second language should not be part of the trip planning stress.

Dropped gear off at Maffeo Sutton Park for a customer heading to Newcastle Island today. Everything is normally pickup only in Nanaimo, but Newcastle is ferry access only, no cars allowed, so meeting them near the dock made more sense this time.

Spent the week on Gabriola Island. Stayed at Page’s Resort, our site looked right over the harbour. Spent a couple days at Drumbeg and Whalebone Beach. Now we’re back, and it’s time to get the gear moving again.

Twenty five minutes off the ferry from Nanaimo and you are camping on Gabriola Island. Sandstone shoreline, quiet coves, and a completely different pace than the mainland side.
