Our mission is to help you find the very best local eats, drinks, activities, things to do, events, and local businesses in the Kootenays. If you're a local business that wants to work with us, send us a message or an email!

Where do you find authentic Filipino food in the Kootenays? Pennydale Junction - BC at the Valley View Golf Club and Restaurant ⛳️

We’ve been trying a few Filipino dishes this season, and this Chicken Rose Curry was a great showcase of all the unique spices and ingredients we’ve been encountering as we explore this cuisine.

Spicy and savoury bites of juicy chicken, so aromatic and full of bold flavours.

It’s been so fun checking out Filipino cuisine here in the Kootenays, especially seeing the care and creativity in both the dishes and the presentation 🤩💐

Stop by Pennydale Junction and try a dish from their featured Filipino menu - we’re loving the flavours 💜

Have you tried a Vada Pav slider before? You can find this Mumbai street food appie new at The Nineteenth - it’s a GIANT curried crispy potato filling with mint aioli and coconut peanut crunch all between a soft buttery bun.

We've never tried a slider like this 😮 The potato filling kind of reminded us of samosa filling - but brought to the next level with the mint aioli and crunch. There's two sliders and if you’re like us you’ll want them both all to yourself 🙊😉

Catch some rays and views at the Castlegar Golf course on the patio this season and try it out! ⛳️

Anyone else love a good donair? 🙋‍♀️ Here's one you need to try at The Cultured Kitchen

That thinly shaved beef and Halifax-style sweet garlic sauce are one of our favourite combos - the perfect mix of sweet and savoury, with just a few veggies to balance it out. 🧅🍅

Wrapped up in a warm, toasted pita, we're always in the mood for this cozy comfort food! And at only $15, it's a tasty treat everyone should try.

P.S. 📍You can find Cultured Kitchen in the back alley in Salmo - just behind the Salmo Hotel 🏨

Osprey Mountain Grill at Balfour Golf & Recreation is back open for the season⛳️☀️ Here's a few dishes we tried that you're going to love!

🥟Spicy pork dumplings: Homemade cute little dumplings with a little kick. So dainty and crispy — a lovely appie to start

🥣 Lemongrass satay bowl: Fragrant lemongrass and creamy peanut sauce coating some tender chicken (or tofu 🌱) with a perfect char. Yum.

🍗 Spicy fried chicken: Hot, crunchy, and saucy served with a load of fries
(Not a spice fan? The honey-soy sauce is killer too)

Last year we went to Osprey for the first time when trying their poutine entry for Nelson’s Poutine Week competition and were blown away - so much so that their poutine was our #1 pick!

Head out for an adventure near Balfour and stop by ~ it's a total hidden gem!🚗☀️

Open from 8am-8pm every day

This was one of the best sandwiches we’ve tried in the last year - the pulled pork sandwich from Lion's Head Smoke & Brew Pub .

It’s comfort food at its finest, smoked for 12 hours before this sweet and tender treat is stacked up on a bun to delivery one of the Kootenay’s best sandwiches. It’s really that good. 🍖🔥

It comes with salad or a mountain of fries, but we couldn’t pass up this French onion soup once we saw it - what a beauty 🥰

Go try this one out in sunny Robson - we think you’ll LOVE it!

Who's up for a treat? 🙋‍♀️

We tried Laksa for the first time at KGR Restaurant (Kokanee Glacier Resort) and we're obsessed🤩

It's a coconut curry noodle soup from Singapore, almost like ramen and Thai curry swirled into one dish. A little sweet from the coconut, a little spicy (just a little), and oh so tasty! 🍜

It's huge, but I want it all to myself 😁 Be right back, driving to 6 Mile for another one 🚙🥰
