“The Heaven Hole” on Saturday night- I’ve seen a lot of incredible sunsets from the Bjorgan backyard, but and I got to witness one for the books this past weekend. The setting sun had the opportunity to quite literally blast through a gap between two thunderstorms, characterized by the iconic anvil shape of the clouds. A sunset is a fast changing and beautiful story, much like life itself.
With a west-facing backyard, sunset and storm viewing here is something I will never take for granted!
You don’t have to travel outside of Niagara for incredible beauty!

📸🌊 two weekends ago- busy busy- still playing catch up on some EPIC tours I’ve run as of late! These lovely return customers came out to appreciate the depths of Short Hills Provincial Park, where recent heavy rains still contributed to the local waterfall feature. As I write this post, I’m actually about to go right back there with a group in a moment! It’s a popular tour and spot for a reason 🥾🌳

Probably my favourite “Mayment” (moment in May- let me know how you like that pun in the comments below). This is the May 19th storm that issued jarring alarms on our cell phones while looking absolutely monstrous and menacing. Thankfully, most of Niagara just dealt with some big winds and a brief torrential downpour, but other areas of southern Ontario saw tornadoes touch down. Those who know me know I LOVE a good storm ⛈️ ⚡️🤘

Tour 🥾 from a couple of weeks ago, with some of my favourite familiar faces from ! Many of these hikers have been out with me multiple times over the years, and it was also fantastic to meet some newcomers! 😁 this hike is not only educational and engaging, but many also see these tours as a memorable social event. Nature brings people together and makes good stories effortless 🌲🐍🌳🐦‍⬛⚡️

From a tour a couple weeks back- some familiar return guests and some new hikers, too! 🥾😁 the unusually wet spring is still pushing water over what would normally be a drier waterfall- we dunked our heads or hats into the falls to cool down on this gorgeous, surprisingly toasty day! Turtles and toads were everywhere… more photos to come on them, as they deserve their own post!

It was an excellent opportunity to engage the public about why Niagara is ecologically special 🌲🐍🥾 a HUGE thanks to the mall and the Welland Public Library for making this possible!

A week ago today 🚌 - my very first field trip organized, run, and completed with nothing but good times! Setting up an outdoor field trip as a new teacher was a first year goal of mine, and it finally happened. The students were AWESOME- I was proud of how they took trust and responsibility into their own hands at the conservation area. They completed a biology “photo essay” assignment, and more importantly, got closer to their peers and nature alike in Niagara’s green backyard 🥾🌲📚📍🚌
