Effective immediately, the Fire Chief, Robert Campbell, of the Killarney Volunteer Fire Department has declared a FIRE BAN on all open fires and burning – including incinerators, cooking and warmth – due to dry conditions.

Research continues of the fisheries in the French River.

Ministry of Natural Resources has started netting for the "Broad Scale Monitoring" fisheries project in the Sudbury Area. The project will last between August 11 to August 16.

Keep your eyes peeled for Yellow and Orange buoys when you fish the back bays and shallows of the French River Delta.

These nets are used to collect biological data about abundance, age structure, mortality, and maturity of the fish species in our river system.
