Mahsi’ Choo to everyone who came out for dogsled rides today! It was such a beautiful day. We had our whole family out helping. Our nephews and our daughter Tl’yah Tr’an even practiced their mushing skills on the lake. These rides on the lake are great training activities for some of our young dogs and mushers.

A little surprise litter, we are calling them our dessert litter. Because Aurora is supposed to get fixed this year, this is her last one. Our kids helped us name the puppies: Jello, Pudding, Cookie, Cupcake, and Muffin. Visitors booking Dogsled tours in January and February can enjoy some puppy cuddles and learn about how we care for and breed sled dogs in a rural community where the vet visits once or twice a year.

Meet our team! Our leaders, Bucko and Leo look like twins, but Bucko is actually Leo’s uncle. Bucko has one blue eye and one brown eye and Leo has two brown eyes. Running loose and catching up to lead is our yearling, Spruce. Also running in this picture is Jah, Luna (white), Tove, Crosby and Sinatra. Most of our team are the black and gold Siberian husky’s, we also have some Alaskan Husky and malamute crosses on our team.

The yahkaii (northern lights) put on a beautiful show for our guests last night. We enjoyed the view with traditional story telling on Crow Mountain in a wall tent. Our Northern lights tour can be booked any night if you are already in Old Crow, or include it as part of our two days of adventure winter tourism package.

Over the next two years we will be making renovations to Edith Josie House. We started work this summer completely re-doing the bathroom. We gutted the bathroom completely, all new plumbing and replaced the tub, toilet and vanity. We are now working on a few final touches to the bathroom but we’re excited to show you the progress so far. Mahsi’ Choo to grants from YG’s Tourism Destination Development Fund and CANNOR for supporting this project.

About Us

Josie’s Old Crow Adventures is owned and operated by Paul Josie. Paul Josie is a member of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation in Old Crow. He is grandson to Edith Josie, author of the famous column, “Here are the News”. Raised in Old Crow, Paul has always had a special connection to the land. He grew up running sled dogs and helping with his family’s dog team. In 2017 Paul married his wife, Bree and in 2018 their daughter, Tl’yah Tr’an was born. In 2019, Adam came to join our family. This is a family owned and operated indigenous tourism business and we are so excited to take you out on the land and teach you about our community.
