It’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Rick Knodel, our RDOS Electoral Area “C” Director. Rick wasn’t just a dedicated leader; he was a true champion for rural Oliver and someone who cared deeply about this community and everyone in it.

His passion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to making life better for all of us won’t be forgotten. From his tireless work to his genuine way of connecting with people, Rick left an impact that will be felt for years to come.

To his family and friends, please know we are thinking about you during this difficult time. Rick’s legacy of care and service will live on, and he’ll be deeply missed by so many of us.

We’re thrilled to host the expanded Oliver Visitor Centre Town Light-Up Market from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM!

Here’s what you can look forward to:

🍻Beverage Garden & Mulled Wine🍷
The Firehall Brewery Beverage Garden will be serving drinks, and Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country will be offering delicious mulled wine samples. (Photo ID and Wristbands are required to purchase and consume alcohol). Stay cozy and warm with Sunbelt Rentals Warming Station, while you sip and enjoy.

Just outside the Visitor Centre doors, Oliver Eats Ltd. will be serving cups of cheese fondue and Oliver and District Recreation will be offering bags of fresh popcorn!

The Town of Oliver Light-Up is almost here!

Save the dates for Friday, November 29th, and Saturday, November 30th, and get ready for a weekend full of holiday cheer!

✨Friday, November 29th (4:00 - 9:00 PM):
🎄Stroll through downtown as Main Street (closed to traffic between Veterans and CO-OP) becomes a pedestrian paradise! Enjoy festive shopping, special holiday deals, and holiday cheer.

🎄At 6:00 PM, join us at Town Hall for the official Light-Up Ceremony featuring the Sen Pok Chin drummers, the OES Choir, and local dignitaries – plus a special visit from Santa!

🎄Afterward, explore the Night Market on Station Street, walk through the enchanting light tunnel, warm up by the bonfire, and stick around for fireworks at 8:00 PM!

✨Saturday, November 30th:
🎄Start the day with Breakfast with Santa at the community centre (9:00 - 11:00 AM, pre-registration required).

🎄From 1:00 - 1:45, bring the kids to the library for Holiday Family Story Time.

🎄At 2:00, wrap up with a free family holiday movie at Oliver Movie Theatre!

Friday, October 18th - Red Wine Tasting Workshop at Vasanti Estate Winery from 6pm -8pm.
Saturday, October 19th - Lewis Cardinal will be back again at VinAmité Cellars from 4pm-7pm! The winery will have an array of drinks and snacks as Lewis serenades you with his lovely songs!
Saturday, October 19th - A multi-course, wine-paired Fall Harvest Dinner in the historic home of Major Fraser at See Ya Later Ranch.
Sunday, October 20th - Firehall Brewery and Respect Record and Skate are proud to present Oliver’s own super talented gang of musicians from SOSS, the Mudrats! On stage from 6pm - 8pm.
