Our motto has always been "Exploring Canada's Arctic" and we take that to heart. In the summer of 2024, we went outside the box and planned the first commercial canoe descent of the Upper Anderson River- a wild and rarely travelled sister of the Horton River in Canada's . Cutting north through taiga forest above the Arctic Circle, we were curious what secrets the Anderson held.

This short film documents this incredible journey from the personal point of view of owner Taylor Ward Pace and the intrepid participants Raymond Laflamme and his son Patrick, as well as 9 other explorers who dared to go on a truly wild adventure into the unknown.

After a life changing experience last summer- full of discovery, wildlife and whitewater- CNA is planning to return this summer again. Let us know if you want to be the next group venturing out to explore this special part of the Spectacular NWT by canoe.

Our Story

Canoe North Adventures is an award-winning adventure travel company owned and operated by Al Pace and Lin Ward. We have been fulfilling wilderness canoeing dreams since 1987 with Al and Lin’s paddling experience spanning over 30,000 river miles on northern rivers in Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories. Who could have predicted that Al’s first arctic adventure in 1977 on the Coppermine River laid the foundation for a lifetime of exploring Canada’s pristine arctic landscape.
