The unspoken side of safari:
Yes, a safari is as every bit as magical as they say - a pilgrimage that feeds the soul and leaves you feeling renewed in a way little else this world can.
However what almost no one talks about is how much it asks of the body (perhaps because of how mesmerizing every second is that people justify the pain and discomfort): long international flights, early starts, heat swings, and hours on bumpy roads. When you land tight and exhausted, the world narrows….When you move and breathe, it opens.
