🌸 DREAMY SPOTS YOU SO NEED TO VISIT THIS SUMMER - PART 1

💦 This beachy spot will give you all the ocean feels without actually leaving the Ottawa area.

📍Located just outside of Dunrobin, Sheila McKee Park is only 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa and so worth the little road trip! 🚙

🥾My favourite part of this short trail ( around 2km round trip) is the walk down the wooden staircase and the big reveal at the bottom.

💦🤍 Welcome to the stunning views of the Ottawa River and Gatineau Hills that go on forever, crashing waves, a beach covered with pebbles (perfect for that rock skipping competition), washed up driftwood along the shore and picnic spot 🧺 after picnic spot!

📸 Oh, don't forget the Insta-worthy pics you'll get that will make you the envy of your friends! (Tell them you've been to the ocean, 😂 they'll
never know!)

💌🚙 This stunner of a place makes an appearance on our "River and Valley Route" Journey.

Here's the details:
▫️Free parking and free to use (there are 2 Sheila McKee signs, it's the 2nd one that has the city of Ottawa label on it)
▫️Dogs on leash permitted
▫️No facilities
▫️Last part of the trail is a little steep as are the steps
▫️There are frozen waterfalls here in the winter ❄️ ( plan on coming back)

Did you know that the casino also has regular shows in their theatre? They host productions from 🎭 stand-up comedy to 🎶 concerts to boxing matches. Every seat is a great seat because of the intimate venue and the ticket prices are inexpensive!

👋🏼 Hi there, I’m Jennifer, proud Canadian 🇨🇦 gal and the owner of Unexpected Journeys. I’m based out of the Ottawa area.

So far, almost 5000 groups have headed out on one of my surprise road trips! 🚙

➡️ I’m also the founder, marketing specialist, road trip designer, packager, paper folder ( I’ve folded over 125,000 pages to date!!), social media manager, the one who answers all your emails, messages and questions, accountant, photographer and frequent post office visitor for my little company!
