Earlier this summer, I was fortunate to spend almost a month exploring southern Africa, including Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia. It was an incredible experience.

Leg 1 done (Windhoek to Johannesburg), and discovering the beauty of day use hotels... with two 7 hr layovers on this journey home I was NOT spending all of it in the airports!

City Lodge Hotel OR Tambo is an easy (indoor) walk from the terminal, and is clean and comfy. And I seriously cannot hear ANY planes.

Another great day in Namibia!

Today, Etosha Safari Lodge to the Cheetah Conservation Fund, with a stop in Outjo for cappuccinos at the Farmhouse Restaurant and veggie burgers to enjoy later.

Afternoon Cheetah Drive to see the beautiful cats up close, and learning about the incredible conservation work happening at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Then checking into the Cheetah Lodge for the night, with Waterberg Plateau in the distance.

Yesterday we left Swakopmund and travelled briefly up the Skeleton coast before turning inland along C35. A quick.stop in Uis for lunch, and some time to admire the views of Brandberg mountain before finally pulling into Etosha Safari Lodge almost 9 hours after our departure ( those washboard roads really slow you down!)

This morning was all about zebras, on our early morning safari game drive to Etosha National Park.

Then, an afternoon walk of 5-6 km around the property's grounds.

Dinner was well-deserved!

What an incredible day on Namibia's coast!

This morning we headed out on the water to kayak with hundreds of Cape Fur Seals. Such a unique experience with the young and playful seals!

Then, on to Sandwich Harbour, where the giant sand dunes of the Namib Desert meet the Atlantic Ocean. Access to this area is restricted and experienced local guides are required. The tides can make the route between the ocean and the dunes disappear awfully quickly!

Namibia continues to amaze me with its incredible diversity. Every day brings something completely different 🤩

A full day excursion to Sossusvlei followed by a Sundowner Dune Drive. Nothing short of amazing.
