August 9th was National Day in Singapore, where the country celebrates its independence. We were lucky to be there leading up to their celebrations and even saw the fireworks during one of their rehearsal days!

The iconic Singapore Supertrees are 25 to 50-meter-tall vertical gardens located at Gardens by the Bay, featuring over 160,000 plants, solar energy harvesting, and the nightly Garden Rhapsody light and sound show.

We also went on the OCBC Skyway. This is a 128-meter-long aerial walkway suspended 22 meters above the ground. It links two of the Supertrees offering close-up views of the vertical gardens and the Marina Bay area.

Day 2 - Singapore-Marina Bay

Today, we went to the Marina Bay area, in the downtown district. There’s so much to see in this area.

First stop was Gardens by the Bay

Cloud Forest featuring Jurassic World: The Experience

Home to one of the tallest indoor waterfalls, we walked along to explore this experience from the ground and from the walkway above. But watch out! Don’t feed the dinosaurs!!

Day 1 Singapore - Yes, all of this still happened on arrival day.

We dropped off our bags at the hotel and
quickly freshened up before heading out.

We walked over to Toast Box for breakfast and we enjoyed traditional Kaya toast and the Cheesy chicken ham on thick toast

Next stop Ion Orchard mall for some shopping

We were starving so lunch at Jollibees (no pictures as everyone dove right into the food)

Finally we went to the Sky Garden at CapitaSpring. This is a (free) way to see Singapore’s beautiful city view (360-degrees) and also has an urban rooftop.

Our family has a tradition to visit McDonald’s at each country we visit. Dinner was at McDonald’s then back to the hotel!
