Group travel for women who are tired of doing life alone. That’s the short version of what I’m building here.
The longer version. I’ve written about travel and life on Life In Pleasantville since 2011. I was the travel expert on What She Said for five years, before I bought the show in 2020 (excellent timing btw). It went from radio to podcast, and now I talk to Canadian women about business, life and social justice issues.
My first marriage ended in 2018. In 2021 I lost our marital home and any retirement I’d counted on, and found myself starting over at 50 with no savings and no real plan for what came next. It’s not my why, but it helped me find it. I’ve written and talked about it extensively, search “divorce” on Life in Pleasantville if you’re interested. What really matters here is what came out the other side.
Girl Trips is coming up on one year and four trips run so far. Six more are in different stages of planning. And here’s what I know for certain. I don’t run trips to help you find yourself. You already know who you are. It’s a trip for women who want connection, who want the sisterhood, who want a little adventure without anyone pushing them into anything they don’t want.
Travel and events are just the backdrop. What I’m actually offering is laughing until you cry, crying because you need the release, and getting to do both with women who understand this ride the same way you do.
