Such a great cause and charitable way to help out our 4 legged furry friends in Mexico!!
Update: Special thanks to Aleks for taking over 4 crates for us! We still have 3 more to send so that a total of 7 dogs can make their way to freedom. Please private message us if you can help!
SOS! Our rescue friends in Cancun are out of crates and cannot ship anymore dogs to international rescues for the time-being. Their local Walmart is totally out of stock with no ETA on the next stock order. This is disastrous for them! Shelters are overrun, they have no funding and local adoption rates are extremely low. They heavily rely on International Rescue to help save dogs! Luckily, we do have airline crates to send them but with no travel plans scheduled in our near future, we need to ask for a volunteer’s help!
Is anyone flying to Cancun on AIR TRANSAT or WESTJET in the near future? If so, these two airlines (just these two) will fly crates FREE OF CHARGE! We also now have a sponsorship offer for the fees associated to ship crates via an INTERJET flight as well! We simply need a volunteer willing to attach the crates to your ticket(s), (you do not sacrifice your own checked baggage space), drop the crates with your checked luggage in Toronto and pick up the crates with your luggage in Cancun. There, the local rescue volunteer will meet you at the airport (and she’ll often give you a free ride to your hotel as a thank-you, if you wish!) The crates are all disassembled, wire-tied together and stacked inside of the largest crate, creating a small pile for easy transport on a luggage cart at the airport.
That’s it! Just a little extra effort of bringing a crate with you to the airport and you will make it possible to save a dog in need. We can even drop it off to your house the night before so it’s not a lot of extra hassle on the day of your flight.
Please message us privately if you can help! Please share!
