1️⃣ Be Rule-Ready ✈️
Every airline has its own rules for weight and dimensions.
Spaces for special equipment are often limited on certain types of aircraft. Let us know as soon as you book!

Pro tip: Take a photo of your packed equipment before closing the bag.

2️⃣ Pack like a pro 📦
Invest in a high-quality transport bag (hard-shell or padded). Use bubble wrap to protect the most fragile parts of your gear.

Pro tip: Remove batteries or sensitive components to avoid damage or security issues.

3️⃣Plan your transportation at your destination 🚗
Showing up with a 9-foot board in front of a small taxi is never ideal!

The Ostional National Wildlife Refuge is one of the few places in the world where you can witness the "arribada": the mass arrival of tens of thousands of sea turtles coming ashore to nest. It is a timeless moment that will stay with you forever. 🌊✨

🗓️ When to go?
Peak season: The phenomenon is most frequent between August and November, although different species of turtles can be observed year-round.

🎒 What to pack?
Dark clothing: To avoid startling the turtles.
Headlamp with red light: White light is strictly prohibited as it disorients the animals. 🔴
Light raincoat: Essential for those passing tropical showers.

Jewels of the Rhine and Glacier Express with Emerald Cruises - This trip began with a 7- night river cruise on the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel, then a 3- day Switzerland extension. The Switzerland extension included two nights in Zermatt and one night in Zurich. We had a view of the Matterhorn from our hotel, a ride on the Gornergrat cogwheel train to the snow top mountains, dinner out in Zermatt with a classic cheese fondue and then the Glacier Express through the Swiss Alps. The Glacier Express was the highlight of the whole trip. Breathtaking! If you have never been to Switzerland, it needs to put on your bucket list. If you've already been to Switzerland, you know what I'm talking about. Make it a priority!

Jewels of the Rhine with Emerald Cruises. Traveling from Amsterdam to Basel. Last night onboard before moving on to Switzerland for three nights. Going to see the Matterhorn and take the Glacier Express through the Swiss Alps.

Jewels of the Rhine with Emerald Cruises. Amsterdam to Basel along with 18 friends from the Owen Sound area. We visited Dusseldorf, Cologne, Koblenz, Heidelberg, Strasbourg and Freiburg. Lots of castles, churches, and towers. Cruised through several locks and passed several small German villages and vineyards. Ate so much good food, and the service offered onboard with Emerald is caring, kind and thoughtful. Enjoyed the onboard pool as well as the onboard entertainment. Just 170 guests onboard the Emerald Luna. If this sounds like the ideal trip for you, give Owen Sound Travel a call.
