When the last of evening light slowly fades to darkness, the sound of trout in the distance slurping spent mayflies becomes your only indicator of a potential target or direction to cast. The challenge and hope of a hook up both increase significantly. Eye's straining into darkness, the slightest sound in the near distance a possible target. Poisoning the boat to take advantage of what little ambient light is left, out of the corner of my eye I detect slight movement on the water. Ok, 2 o'clock at 35 ft. Make your cast and make it count. The fly lands 🤞the fish eats, set, set, set the line comes tight and the night silence is broken, the 5X tippet holding fast and 26" of beautiful trout is in the net, a new PB dry fly fish is landed, Simply awesome!
