Join Hike Leaders Dan Myall and Neil Runnalls on an End-to-End Series of Hikes in the Mad River Section of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail Association. The trail is 50km in length and will be broken down into 3 manageable hikes of 16km, 14km and 20km. Participants will receive a badge for completing this section.

These hikes will take you through conservation lands, a railway line, along a river, down country roads and through the beautiful Town of Creemore, Ontario. All hikes begin at 8:15am sharp and will require car shuttling.

Hike dates are: Sunday, March 5th, 2023 / Sunday, March 19th, 2023 / and Sunday, April 2nd.

After completion of the Mad River Section the group will be moving on to both the Wasaga Section and the Midland Section in the spring.

What?! Do we have here? An Appalachian Trail finisher!

She (aka goose) started the trail (2,190+ miles) from Georgia on February 27th and finished at Mt Katahdin on August 7th.

“I did it. Georgia-Maine. 161 days full of the toughest yet happiest moments of my life. Im thankful for every person that I’ve met on this journey. I’m going to miss so much about the life I have made out here. Mostly the people I’ve crossed paths with and family I’ve made. I feel so lucky going home with some awesome memories and crazy stories I’ll remember forever. Goose out.”

A great park!

Created by Park Superintendent Lloyd Chapman in 1993, the is to hike to hike the park's 11 loops and 160 km of trails between September 1 and October 31.

Our summer hiking group braved the heat and humidity this morning for our third hike. 11km through winding forest, Canadian Shield and old homesteads. We all agree, this is our favourite way to spend a Sunday morning.

This one was short and steep, building us up for a couple of tough hikes next month.
